To fulfill its social responsibility as a company, immixGroup® created the immixGroup Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Since 2005, the Foundation has donated more than $720,000 and actively supports numerous charitable causes at both the local and national levels.
immixGroup and its Foundation have raised more than $650,000 to benefit cancer research, treatment and education at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, one of the finest medical facilities and research institutions in the country. The funds have been used for a variety of education and outreach initiatives, including: information and emotional support for newly diagnosed colorectal cancer patients; promotion of screening for early diagnosis; salary support for a Health Educator; and a survivorship and patient education program. In addition, our efforts have helped to fund research involving molecular genetics of metastatic colorectal cancer as well as clinical outcomes studies of hepatic colorectal metastasis surgery.
In 2009, the hospital and the Foundation worked together to create the immixGroup Foundation Surgical Oncology Fellowship in the Department of Surgery at Johns Hopkins. This fellowship provides funding for an individual post-doctoral research fellow and equips him or her with the skills to become a leader in the field of academic surgical oncology. The two-year program incorporates a year of clinical training followed by a year dedicated to cancer research.
To meet its annual commitment to Johns Hopkins, the Foundation has hosted its annual immixGroup Foundation Charity Golf Tournament since 2005. Visit our Charity Golf Tournament site for more information on past events and this year's tournament.
To encourage and support the generosity and community involvement of employees, immixGroup offers the immixGroup Foundation Matching Gift Program which provides matching funds to the charitable organizations employees personally support. To maximize the impact of employee charitable giving, immixGroup matches, dollar for dollar, donations made by eligible donors to the eligible nonprofit organizations of their choice. In addition, immixGroup employees regularly organize events and fundraising drives to benefit organizations of importance to them.
The immixGroup Foundation has supported more than 30 worthy charitable causes, including:
