immixGroup Raises $130,000 for the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins
Government technology community and local businesses come out in force to support colon cancer education and research
MCLEAN, VA, October 21, 2008—The immixGroup Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with immixGroup, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise technology products and services to government, announced today it raised $130,000 for the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins from its fourth annual immixGroup Charity Golf Tournament held at Lansdowne Resort on October 6. With strong support from members of the government technology community and local businesses, the proceeds from this year's sold out event represent the largest donation in the event’s history, bringing the total amount raised to over $400,000.
“From the inception of this special charity event, it’s been our mission to bring together our fellow members of the technology community supporting the public sector, government executives, friends, and supporters to raise capital and increase awareness for a very worthy cause,” said Jeff Copeland, CEO of immixGroup, Inc. “It is with great appreciation that we thank the tournament's sponsors, donors, players, volunteers, and members of the executive planning committee for their overwhelming generosity, dedicated hard work, and financial support to make this annual event such a continual success.”
“The proceeds from today's tournament will be used to support research and patient education at the Johns Hopkins Colon Cancer Center, a multidisciplinary program providing comprehensive diagnostic testing and multidisciplinary care for patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer,” said program director Michael A. Choti, MD. “Your generosity helps meet the financial needs of our center so we can focus our attention on helping those with this too common problem.”
