  • immixGroup Subsidiary EC America Awarded Contract with State of Texas to Provide Cisco Products

    Unique Program Benefits Historically Underutilized Businesses and Remote, Underserved Customers

    MCLEAN, VA, September 29, 2010—immixGroup, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise technology products and services to the public sector, announced today its subsidiary EC America, Inc. has been awarded a contract with the State of Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR). Under this contract, immixGroup will provide Cisco data communications and telecommunications networking products and services to state, county, local, and government agencies or public education entities in Texas through a unique order fulfiller program.

    The order fulfiller program for the state of Texas goes beyond a traditional reseller arrangement to connect all Texas DIR customers—including those in geographically remote areas—to the local resellers they trust and with whom they transact business. Through partnering arrangements, the program significantly expands the ability of isolated resellers and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) to leverage the benefits of the DIR contract’s discounts and purchasing ease for Cisco products and services. It offers all authorized players—both customers and order fulfillers alike—an easy, cost-efficient path to conduct business through the DIR contract.

    Specifically, the program:

    • Empowers HUBs to utilize the DIR contract;
    • Provides geographically remote customers and resellers unprecedented access to the benefits of working with the DIR;
    • Attracts local business, especially in geographically remote, traditionally underserved areas, and;
    • Expands the reach of the DIR contract through a network of qualified order fulfiller partners.

    "immixGroup’s order fulfiller program is a great win for the State of Texas," says Larry Payne, Cisco vice president for State and Local Government, and Education. "It provides customers with easier access to Cisco’s leading technologies, through more of our sales partners, than ever before."

    "We’ve had great success bringing a similar model to other public sector organizations and we expect to repeat and exceed that success with the Texas DIR," says Art Richer, president of immixGroup. "This program, on behalf of Cisco, will greatly benefit the DIR, our HUB and reseller partners, and the people of Texas."
