Steve Charles Elected as Chairman of ACT/IAC Emerging Technology Shared Interest Group

Industry veteran brings decades of experience helping hundreds of technology companies navigate government business landscape

MCLEAN, VA, January 5, 2007 - immixGroup, Inc., a leader in government technology representation, channel programs and contract management today announced that Steve Charles, EVP/Co-founder, has been elected as chairman of the Emerging Technology Shared Interest Group (ET SIG) within the American Council for Technology and the Industry Advisory Council (ACT/IAC).

As incoming chairman, Mr. Charles' vision is to help facilitate government and industry awareness of technology capability and applicability to the government in a vendor-neutral forum that's open to anyone on both sides of the equation. He also plans to help government acquisition planners define vendor-neutral technology requirements and generate examples of successful implementations among the membership. By providing a vendor-neutral forum for the leaders and pioneers of each emerging technology category to collaborate with government, vendors and government can benefit as a whole.

"We welcome Steve's experience, ideas and enthusiasm to lead our Emerging Technology SIG," said IAC Chair Bill Piatt. "His experience with technology companies of all sizes, as well as his expertise in the government's procurement of emerging technologies will be valuable assets to ACT/IAC."

"I am truly honored to accept the position of Chair of the ET SIG, and the responsibility that comes with it," Charles said. "I sincerely believe that the ET SIG can and should be the most dynamic SIG within ACT/IAC because new technologies are always emerging, creating a continuous stream of innovative technology solutions the government needs to accomplish its missions. The ET SIG can help facilitate government adoption of these technologies through increased awareness among both government and industry."
