McLean, VA, Wednesday, May 14, 2014–Planners of the CyberMontgomery Forum have announced immixGroup Co-founder and Executive Vice President, Steve Charles, a Montgomery Country resident, as a featured speaker for this inaugural event. The event theme “The Center of Gravity” is intended to position Montgomery County in the vanguard of building a cyber ecosystem. The Forum is a day-long event to be held in Rockville at the Universities of Shady Grove Conference Center.

“Cyber criminals continue to pick our pockets because as organizations we don’t fight as allies against cybercrime. The government is trying to help get us organized industry-by-industry,” said Charles. “Can we do it? Only time will tell, and I, for one, am trying to do my part.”

Finding future business opportunities—and providing real value—within each industry community will start with building trust between the public and the private sector. In this presentation, Mr. Steve Charles will introduce his five-point approach using the Health community, as an example.

As an industry thought leader, Mr. Charles spends much of his time educating technology vendors on the federal IT market to help them develop strategies to grow their businesses. He is an author and frequent speaker at local events focused on providing value to the public sector.

The CyberMontgomery Forum has been developed by the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development and the Federal Business Council (FBC). Contributors from federal and local government, industry and academia have assisted the planning process. Goals of the meeting include sharing information about the cyber market, the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), other training initiatives, state and local incentives for the cyber industry.
