Government IT Sales Summit to Provide Insights for Technology Companies

McLean, VA, Thursday, November 13, 2014–immixGroup, Inc. has announced the speakers for its upcoming panel discussion on cloud computing, which will be held at the inaugural Government IT Sales Summit on November 20 at the McLean Hilton. The Summit will provide insights for technology companies on how they can grow their public sector business in a flat market while helping their government customers achieve mission success.

The panel session Clouds in the Forecast is intended for sales, marketing, channel, and business development professionals from IT manufacturers, system integrators, solution providers, and value-added resellers (VARs) serving the government market. It will be hosted by Steve Charles, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of immixGroup, Inc., and co-author of the book The Inside Guide to the Federal IT Market. Charles will be joined by: David McClure, Ph.D., Former Associate Administrator, Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies, General Services Administration (now Chief Strategist, Veris Group); and Roger Waldron, President of the Coalition for Government Procurement.

The panelists will discuss the evolution and adoption of cloud computing since the introduction of the federal government’s “Cloud First” strategy. They will offer predictions on the future of cloud computing over the next three years. Attendees also will hear the panelists’ projections on the cloud products and services the government is likely to buy in the next year. They will learn what steps technology companies need to take, and how to position their business strategies, to capitalize on cloud computing sales opportunities.

“These speakers understand the impact of cloud computing from all angles – technology, policy, procurement, sales, and the government’s evolving requirements. We’re thrilled to have such well-known experts sharing their insights on this important topic,” said Allan Rubin, Vice President of Marketing for immixGroup. “Clouds in the Forecast, like the rest of the sessions at the Government IT Sales Summit, will help technology companies understand how to adjust their strategies and align their resources to win more business in this challenging environment.”

Also taking place at the Government IT Sales Summit, immixGroup’s 10th Annual Civilian and Defense Budget Briefings will identify key funded FY2015 programs in government relating to the latest technology requirements and priorities, including federal cloud computing programs. Conducted by immixGroup’s market intelligence group, these briefings also will cover the organizational landscapes and IT priorities of top federal agencies, as well as the latest updates on policy, legislation, and budgets that will affect IT procurement.

The Government IT Sales Summit will offer 16 seminar and panel discussions covering sales opportunities, best practices, and market trends in such technology categories as cybersecurity, big data and analytics, data center optimization, and cloud computing.

Registration for the Government IT Sales Summit will close on Tuesday, November 18. More than 750 attendees representing 200+ companies are expected to attend, while nearly 50 technology vendors will exhibit at the technology expo and networking reception concluding the event.
